The Tenryu Hamanako Line , known locally as the "Tenhama" Line is one of several rural lines in Shizuoka Prefecture which are worth exploring.

The JR Iida Line is a rural line running thru Aichi, Shizuoka and Nagano prefectures. It is famous because of the many "Hikyo Eki" (secluded stations) and also because it takes 7 hours to travel 196km!
