2024 was a successful year for TS Japan Rail, and we look forward to helping even more clients Explore Japan by Rail or Explore Japan's Railways in the coming year.

We often see the comment, particularly on social media, that travel to certain destinations "takes too long," not realizing that the journey itself will greatly add to the travellers experience of Japan, as they see the magnificent scenery, not seen from the shinkansen or expressway, and may even give you the chance to interact with locals. 

For rail enthusiasts there is also a lot to see. Although the shinkansen and watching how it operates should be on your list of things to see, there is far more to see and experience, both modern and old, comprehensive urban networks to tranquil rural lines and high tech to not so high tech!
